Rosary that was given to me by a friend before he left for home. I hung it in my truck every mission and never drove in Iraq without it. My intent was to pass it on to the lowest ranking personel that I valided from our replacements, but my Clip never did a validation misson with our replacements. In the end, the rosary returned to the States with me.

My gear at the beginning of our training in Texas.

I like to move around the modular pockets and by the end of the deployment the only ones that remained were the grenade pouch (top left under the name tag), the Improved First Aid Kit (IFAK. The large square on the left side), one M16 magazine pouch (right side), and my Gerber pouch (small olive drab in the center).

The actual positioning in the end was the grenade pouch in the location its in in this photo, the IFAK on the right side, and the remaining two on the bottom left. The grenade pouch held my earplug case and lighter, the M16 ammo pouch my gloves, and the Gerber pouch my Surefire flashlight.

As soon as I recieved inserts for my sunglasses/safety goggles the dust/sun/wind goggles (shown here on my helmet) were repacked for shipping home.
